Supporting Communication Needs

I am a qualified Communication Support Worker (CSW). I have a total of 14 years experience working as a CSW working with children, adolescent  and adults with a  wide spectrum  of neurodiverse conditions.

Role of a Communication Support Worker (CSW)

CSW’S support individuals to access information and communicate with others. We work along side other specialist teams in a wide range of domains.

The role of a CSW can vary, depending on the needs of the individual they are supporting. This can include:

​

  • Helping individuals with understanding and producing written materials

  • Adapting materials to enable the individual to understand more clearly

  • Suggesting ways the environment can be improved to make it easier for the individuals

  • Supporting individuals express their views, feelings and opinions.
